Give at a higher level

Why Your Gift Matters

People of faith want to make a difference, but often lack a clear path to get started. Your gift funds the framework that gives them one.

Every program you support exists because a congregation, a Fellow, or a young adult had a real idea and needed the resources and structure to act on it. Your gift is what makes that support possible before a single project ever launches.

WHERE YOUR GIFT GOES

In 2024 alone, your support helped:

21

congregations across seven states complete Becoming a Changemaker Church, reaching 508 people and launching 16 community projects.

100+

Fund more than 100 Fellows since 2018, ranging in age from 12 to 80.

$10,000

Support young adult leaders in Change the Story, who receive up to $10,000 per project through a grant from Lilly Endowment Inc.

Your Gift, Many Changemakers

Your financial support funds more than a project. It funds a repeatable process that congregations and individuals carry forward long after a cohort ends.

Every congregation that completes Becoming a Changemaker Church can then train its own teams. Every Fellow who finishes the program has a process they can use for the rest of their life. That's the difference between funding a program and funding a movement: your gift keeps working after the check clears, because the people who receive it keep passing it on.

People Powered

The Changemaker Initiative started in 2018, when a group of laypeople at Los Altos United Methodist Church partnered with Ashoka to test a simple idea: what if a congregation's greatest asset for change is its own people? Twenty-five people, ages 12 to 74, ran with it.

That experiment became a framework, and with support from the Lilly Endowment, the framework became a program running in congregations across the country. Partners like Princeton Seminary and the Texas Methodist Foundation have helped it reach further still. Your gift furthers that track record.
